Kang Contemporary is delighted to participate in the POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair 2024, showing the works of Jeongmoon Choi, Annette Cords, Dirck Eicken and Vemo Hang at Booth A10, as well as Paul Günther Köstner at POSITIONS Selected, and Chan Sook Choi at NFT POSITIONS.
The artists shown in the booth appear to work in various disciplines; however, a common thread is running through their practice: All four artists create their analogue works with the aid of either digital or virtual techniques.
The use of various materials emphasizes the physical qualities and tactile essence in each of the artworks, which differentiate and underline their unique materiality. The works’ virtual nascency reverberates through their various materialities, representing their inherent properties and sensory experience; Choi’s UV-reflective threads, Cords’ tapestries, Eicken’s paintings or Hang’s painted 3-D printed sculptures, explore the relationship between the material and conceptual aspects of art, blurring the lines between object and idea to create a space of interdisciplinary dialogue.
