Hara Shin

Hara Shin works with films and multimedia installations. She employs micro-narratives that interlink different times and spaces through elements such as matter, nature, the body, and fragmented existences and their surroundings by mapping remnants and peripheries of sociopolitical topography. Through multispecies storytelling, she addresses pressing contemporary issues such as the climate crisis, mass extinction, habitat loss, and migration, seeking to reconstruct hierarchical contexts that traverse appropriation and pluralism. Her work explores the nonlinear and intricate relationships between the natural and the artificial, documentary and fiction, and the human and non-human.
